Storyline
Hughie Campbell is deeply traumatized after his girlfriend, Robin, is killed in a high-speed collision with the celebrity superhero A-Train. Vought International offers him a $45,000 settlement, but Hughie is uncertain about accepting it. Meanwhile, aspiring superhero Annie January auditions as "Starlight" and joins the Seven after Lamplighter's retirement. Upon arriving at Seven headquarters, she is coerced into a sexual favor by the Deep.
Billy Butcher gives Hughie a chance to uncover superhero corruption. He introduces Hughie to a covert "Supes club" and reveals footage of A-Train laughing about Robin's death. Butcher proposes that Hughie accept the settlement money and plant a bug at Seven Tower, but Hughie initially refuses.
In Central Park, Annie and Hughie meet and encourage each other to stand up for what is right. Hughie eventually plants the bug, but Translucent discovers it and confronts him at work. Butcher arrives in time to help Hughie, and together they subdue Translucent. Meanwhile, Homelander destroys the Mayor of Baltimore's plane after the mayor attempts to blackmail Vought.
